Recently, I built CANSPLA (Candidate Analytics and Sourcing Platform), one of the most affordable Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) in the Indian market.
Unlike most recruitment tools designed primarily for businesses, CANSPLA was created to solve the real-world problems faced by individual recruiters. It aims to empower them with a powerful, easy-to-use tool that keeps them relevant in a domain that’s quickly being transformed and in some ways, replaced by AI-driven hiring software.
But while reaching out to potential users, I came across a revealing insight about the recruitment industry.
The Two Types of Recruiters in the Market
After interacting with dozens of recruiters, I realized the market can be divided into two distinct categories.
1) The Passionate Recruiters
These are the ones who genuinely love what they do. They take pride in helping people find the right opportunities, understand the art of sourcing and matching talent, and continuously look for ways to improve.
They explore new tools, analyze hiring data, and actively experiment with new processes. They’re the future-ready recruiters: curious, adaptable, and eager to grow.
2) The Reluctant Recruiters
Then comes the second type, those who simply “ended up” in recruitment. For them, it’s not a career; it’s just a job. They often complain about having to manually screen hundreds of applications or missing out on good candidates, yet they remain unwilling to adopt new tools or automation that could make their lives easier.
They’re stuck in the old way of doing things and prefer to operate within their comfort zone, even if that means falling behind.
Where CANSPLA Fits In
My product, CANSPLA, was built for the first category, the passionate and forward-thinking recruiters who want to stay relevant and efficient.
However, the reality is that the majority of the market still falls under the second category. This realization helped me understand why so few recruiter-centric products thrive successfully because innovation appeals only to those who want to evolve.
But it also made my mission clearer: CANSPLA isn’t for everyone. It’s for those who see recruitment as a craft worth mastering, not just a paycheck to collect.
A Word to Both Types
If you identify yourself as the first type of recruiter, someone who’s curious, eager to learn, and wants to build a stronger position in the market, then CANSPLA is built for you. Try it, test it, and connect with me to share your feedback or ideas on how we can make it even better.
But if you belong to the second category, I have some bad news.
There are startups and entrepreneurs already building AI tools designed to replace manual recruiters. In the coming years, businesses will downsize their recruitment teams to cut costs, keeping only those who bring technical and strategic value. Recruiters who refuse to adapt or skill up will find themselves on the losing end of automation.
The Way Forward
If you want to future-proof your career in recruitment, the solution is simple:
-
Start using smart tools like CANSPLA to automate repetitive tasks.
-
Build your own personal candidate database and leverage it to stand out.
-
Explore new sourcing channels, experiment with your process, and measure results.
-
Become the kind of recruiter that AI can’t replace, one who thinks, strategizes, and innovates.
CANSPLA can help you do that, by giving you insights, analytics, and sourcing tools that enhance your efficiency and make you indispensable in the recruitment process.
Final Thoughts
The recruitment industry is evolving fast. The question is, will you evolve with it?
Be the recruiter who leads the change, not the one left behind by it. Tools like CANSPLA are not here to replace recruiters; they’re here to empower those who choose to grow.
